Pennant Birthday

Sorry for the lag in blogging...I really am trying to keep it all together. Ha ha!
The card you see today is another cute one from the Just Add Cake series I did for a birthday card class I hosted last night. This one uses the Pennant Punch and the Party This Way stamp set.
I know it looks like my pennants are strung on string, but they aren't. Save the baker's twine and just tie a couple cute little bows and glue dot them on the ends. And, it helps to give some depth by popping the pennants up with some dimensionals.
You can purchase all supplies at my online store http://marthastamps.stampinup.net.
Supplies Used:
  • Stamps: Party This Way (#120609 clear, #118744 wood)

Just Add Cake for boys...

This card isn't necessarily for boys only, but it could definitely be used for that since it doesn't have any pink on it. I like the blue and brown together...it gives it a somewhat boyish feel, but still is soft and fun.
There are no special tricks to this card. What you see is what you get really. Just make sure you stamp the Baja Breeze balloon on scrap Whisper White and then snip it out and pop it up with a dimensional. Yes, the strings are hand drawn...yes, I am not an artist. But, who cares right??
You can order any of the supplies from my cards on my website at http://marthastamps.stampinup.net. AND... don't forget that it is Sale-a-bration time and the stamp set used in this week's samples can be yours for free with a qualifying order. Don't hesitate to call or email me if you have questions.
Supplies Used:
  • Ink: Early Espresso Classic Ink Pad (#119670), Baja Breeze Classic Ink Pad (#111833), Early Espresso Marker (#119680)
  • Stamps: Party This Way (Wood #118744 or Clear #120609)
  • Paper: Whisper White (#100730), Baja Breeze (#111352), Early Espresso (#119686), Just Add Cake DSP (#124339)

Just Add Cake

This simple little card gives you a big wow. You might be wondering how I did it. Don't worry, I will share the details with you. It uses a half sheet of Whisper White card stock for the base and the Just Add Cake DSP. The colors are so much fun!

Here is how you make the rounded banners... First start by cutting 4 strips of DSP to be 1" x 4". Then punch out 4 matching 1" circles. Trim the circles in half and butt them up against the 1" strips. The ribbon over the top hides the seam and it looks like one solid piece. I used a glue dot under the knot of the ribbon to make sure it stays in place.

Some of the colors are going to retire at the end of May, so you had better get on this train while you still can. The layout is simple and classic and is just fun all around for a birthday.

Supplies Used:
  • Ink: Poppy Parade Classic Stamp Pad (#119782)
  • Stamps: Party This Way (wood #118744, clear #120609)
  • Paper: Whisper White (#100730), Just Add Cake DSP (#124339)
  • Accessories: Blushing Bride 1/2" Stitched Poly Ribbon(#119267)
  • Tools: Paper Trimmer (#104152), 1" Circle Punch (#119868), SNAIL (#104332), Glue Dots (#103683)
