More Cake Please...

This is the 3rd installment of the Just Add Cake card class cards that I did. I am in heavenly love with the new Blossom Punch that I used to create the flower on the card. Its in the Occasions Mini Catalog right now...and we don't know if it will be around for the new catalog yet, so pick it up now if you love it too. And believe me, you will LOVE it.
I started with a So Saffron card base. Embossed the Whisper White peice with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder and my Big Shot. Punch the edge of the Poppy Parade strip with the Scallop Edge Punch and wrapped it with Baker's Twine. The cute little leaves of my flower is the branch from the Bird Builder Punch. Add a cutie little Sale-a-bration brad in there with the Triple Blossom Punch and voila! Super Cute card that could be used for any occasion.

Just Add Cake for boys...

This card isn't necessarily for boys only, but it could definitely be used for that since it doesn't have any pink on it. I like the blue and brown together...it gives it a somewhat boyish feel, but still is soft and fun.
There are no special tricks to this card. What you see is what you get really. Just make sure you stamp the Baja Breeze balloon on scrap Whisper White and then snip it out and pop it up with a dimensional. Yes, the strings are hand drawn...yes, I am not an artist. But, who cares right??
You can order any of the supplies from my cards on my website at http://marthastamps.stampinup.net. AND... don't forget that it is Sale-a-bration time and the stamp set used in this week's samples can be yours for free with a qualifying order. Don't hesitate to call or email me if you have questions.
Supplies Used:
  • Ink: Early Espresso Classic Ink Pad (#119670), Baja Breeze Classic Ink Pad (#111833), Early Espresso Marker (#119680)
  • Stamps: Party This Way (Wood #118744 or Clear #120609)
  • Paper: Whisper White (#100730), Baja Breeze (#111352), Early Espresso (#119686), Just Add Cake DSP (#124339)
  • Tools: Paper Trimmer (#104152), Dimensionals (#104430), SNAIL (#104332)

Just Add Cake

This simple little card gives you a big wow. You might be wondering how I did it. Don't worry, I will share the details with you. It uses a half sheet of Whisper White card stock for the base and the Just Add Cake DSP. The colors are so much fun!

Here is how you make the rounded banners... First start by cutting 4 strips of DSP to be 1" x 4". Then punch out 4 matching 1" circles. Trim the circles in half and butt them up against the 1" strips. The ribbon over the top hides the seam and it looks like one solid piece. I used a glue dot under the knot of the ribbon to make sure it stays in place.

Some of the colors are going to retire at the end of May, so you had better get on this train while you still can. The layout is simple and classic and is just fun all around for a birthday.

Supplies Used:
  • Ink: Poppy Parade Classic Stamp Pad (#119782)
  • Stamps: Party This Way (wood #118744, clear #120609)
  • Paper: Whisper White (#100730), Just Add Cake DSP (#124339)
  • Accessories: Blushing Bride 1/2" Stitched Poly Ribbon(#119267)
  • Tools: Paper Trimmer (#104152), 1" Circle Punch (#119868), SNAIL (#104332), Glue Dots (#103683)
