Sneak Peek Alert!

I just wanted to give you a heads up that there is sneak peak of a stamp set from the new 2010 Holiday Mini Catalog in this post! Woo Hoo! You will love it! If you would like a catalog, please send me an e-mail and I will get you one right away.

I started out making Halloween cards last week....why? Because I keep seeing samples from the mini catalog on the Stampin' Up! demonstrator site and I couldn't help myself. I haven't purchase my own supplies for this year, but I used leftovers from last year and that fed my fix for a bit. So many cute things to do with the new stuff! I can hardly contain myself.

As most of you have figured out by now, I am a clean and simple kind of gal. Not that you can't make cute stuff going all out....I just choose not to. People wow over cards even when they are done simply, and when there is a toddler wanting to help you need to hurry. The mummy card was one that I copied the idea off. The gals name is Geraldine Andrade. There are lots similar out there, but I liked hers. I put my sentiment greeting on the inside.

Here is you sneak peek! I will post a picture of the full set once it goes live to order on the 1st of Sept. The stamp set is called Paisley Prints (#121121 clear mount $12.95 or #120817 wood mount $16.95). Yes, the heart in the set does match the Full Heart Punch (#119883 $16.95). I just love punches! Funny story...my husband was sitting watching the preseason Chargers game while I made this card and after I had cut the leaves out he said, "Whoa..does that have a punch that matches too?!" My response..."No, but it should! I hand cut them. I think all stamps should have matching punches!" He laughed at me. I used Cajun Craze, Old Olive, and Cherry Cobbler for the inks and papers. The sentiment stamps that I used inside and out were from Grateful Greetings (#116511 wood mount $36.95).

I hope you enjoyed the cards for this weekend! I will do some more...I promise. There are so many cute things from the new holiday mini! Give me a jingle if you want a copy of you very own and we can do a party out of it and all your friends can get some great stuff too.

If you want to join a card club and make things with me once a month...you are in luck! We are starting another one up. I will post details soon. Happy Stamping!

Martha

PS...who likes the new blog design? I did it myself in My Digital Studio with the Play Date Sets. Super Fun!

August Birthday Cards

I got the birthday cards done for my family's August birthdays. I copied the idea from a fellow stampin with Stampin' Up! but I used different colors. All my birthdays were for girls this month and the the original was for a boy. Just goes to show that the same exact layout can be used for boys or girls just by shifting the colors around a bit.

I got them in the mail today so they should reach everyone by Saturday at the latest...so act surprised if your birthday is in August and you check my blog! ha ha ha It is hard to see in the picture, but the top part of the card base is scored with lines 1/4" apart. It really adds to it and doesn't make it look so plain if it were just flat cardstock. The stamp set used was Party Hearty (#111532) $26.95.

I used Thank You cards that I had done months ago, but I will show you a few of them that I used again since that was before I started the blog.

This was a card that I designed for a demonstrator swap. I still really love it and smile every time I see it. It was simple, but just has that great awwh factor. The stamp set was Friends Never Fade (#120618 Clear Mount $13.95 or #118750 in wood mount $17.95). The strip of Old Olive cardstock was embossed using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder (#119976 $7.95) which I LOVE! I can't get enough of my embossing folders.

This was a quick card made from the stamp set Because I Care (#120118) It is a level 1 hostess set and can be your free if you want to hold a qualifying party with me. We can even use this set during the party if you would like.

As always, if you want any of the supplies used, need ideas, want to host a stamp party, or want to join my team....let me know, I can help with ALL of it!

MIA???

Yes, I feel like I have been MIA for a few weeks. I didn't fall off the face of the planet....I promise. I had a family vacation and reunion planned for the week of July 24th and then as soon as I got home I was off on a road trip to help my sister in law drive her kids back to Topeka, Kansas. Her husband has been gone for 2 weeks for the National Scout Jamboree and she was left with 4 kids (one being 2 yrs old and a 12 year old that is severely handicapped). She needed the help...so there I went!

It was a 16.5 hours of driving fun! ha ha ha We drove from North Ogden, Utah all the way home to Topkea in one shot...no car naps included! One of us was driving and the other was always helping the kids. It wasn't as bad as I had imagined, so that was great! I then spent a week with them out there in Kansas helping around the house. Her husband and oldest son returned from camp and then between school registrations, back to school shopping, and everyday life with a handicapped child we were super busy.

The trip home was much MORE eventful than the one out there though, even though I flew home. Needless to say...I ran through the denver airport like a mad woman to catch a connecting flight (that they thankfully held for 20 mins for me!) I sat in the Kansas City airport for hours as well. I finally made it home to Salt Lake and so did my bag! Woo Hoo! I don't know how they got that transfered planes so fast in Denver, but yeah for me! I picked up my little one in North Ogden on the drive home and made it back to Logan around Midnight. 11 hours of traveling was just too much.

At any rate, I am back. I am not caught up, but back. The hubby did a good job of not letting the toddler get hurt and feeding him, but I have mounds of laundry to do, cleaning, gardening, and of course....stamping! I will post pictures of projects hopefully tomorrow. I have to make a lot of August birthday cards for my family, and thank you cards for all those that helped my husband while I was gone helping others.

Thanks! Happy stamping!
