Stamp to the Max November Blog Hop

Hello world!  I have been totally absent from pretty much everything lately.  Yep, I am still pregnant...but baby is scheduled for the 18th no matter what.  Plus I was on bed rest for 6 weeks or so and that kind of put me out of the loop of life.  But, things are going well now and frankly, it is time to get this little guy out.  :)

Welcome to this month's blog hop.  I skipped last month for the above mentioned reasons.  You would think one would get lots of crafting done when you aren't allowed to leave the house and what not.  BUT, you would be surprised at how much you really can't do while on bed rest.

I am back at it and have an awesome banner project for the holiday season.  I used the Simply Created Banner Kit from the Holiday Catalog and added on the Christmas Banner Accessory Kit with a little bit of Silver Glimmer Paper and basic cardstock.  I really like how it turned out.

The best part is that you can make it say whatever you want.  Here are some ideas:  Merry, Joy, Snow, Noel, Burrr, etc...  So customize it for your holidays or just winter in general.  The accessories are all included in the add on kit.  The only thing that I added myself was the snowflake cutouts between the letters and lollies.  I used the Festive Flurry framelits and some Glimmer Paper and cardstock in matching colors.

This would make the perfect gift for anyone you know or yourself.  I am choosing to give mine to myself.  :)  Those are the best kinds of gifts right?

Hope you enjoyed the sample and now you get to move along to the next great holiday gift idea in the hop.  You can place orders on my website 24 hours a day.  And make sure you check in with the specials and promotions that are going on there as well.  Thanks!

Stamp to the Max September Blog Hop

Its blazing hot around here in Utah still, but I am hoping for FALL like no tomorrow.  Isn't it exciting to have the holiday season right around the corner finally!?  I can't wait.  The season starts off with Halloween and that is exactly what is up today for the hop.

When the Holiday Catalog came out a little bit ago the first thing on my must have list was the Simply Created Banner kits.  I love a good banner and have been making them for a while on my own.  This kit makes it SOOOO EASY!  Plus with the predone Halloween Banner Kit to add to the basic banners it was fast too.

Isn't it awesome?  I think so.  I created a few more for other holidays and celebrations as well.  I just couldn't stop.  In less than an hour the whole thing was done and ready to hang.  Since we are still crashing at my Mom's house and baby will be here in roughly 10 weeks now, she was thrilled that the décor I was making would probably hang in her house on the mantle rather than my own.  After the Halloween one, I did a birthday one and a Christmas one.  She then asked for a Thanksgiving one on top of that.  Oh dear!  I think I might have created a monster....but shhhh, its secretly a really good things because even though she doesn't like making the items herself she will ask me to make them and she will buy them!  Best Customer Ever!  HA HA HA!

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop.  Move along and get some more ideas for the others.  You won't regret it.

Stamp the to Max August Blog Hop

Can you believe that we are already talking Holiday Catalog?!  In case you didn't know, it went live for ordering yesterday and it is full of wonderful new products.  The blog hop is all focused on the new Holiday Catalog this month....so enjoy it.

While my little family is still stuck living in the basement at my mother's house and I am 24 weeks pregnant with our second little boy, I have had to figure out creative ways to get my crafting in and plan for the future as well.  I decided that since baby is due in November, and it is a stressful time of year anyway, I was going to use the new Simply Created card kit called Merry Little Christmas.  I will be needing to send cards out to announce the new baby, Christmas, and our new address about that time of year.  I am cutting back and using one card to do the job of 3! Smart right? Totally.

Plus, I need the ease of having everything cut out and ready to go.  All you have to do is stamp and assemble.  SUPER EASY!  It even comes with an envelope liner to make it look like you went all out for the occasion.  That's our little secret.

So, I hope you enjoy the final product.  You can place your order on my website 24 hours a day and get your Christmas card stash started early.  There are some other great kits available as well if this isn't your style.  Go check it out and jump along to the next blog for more samples from the new catalog.

Stamp to the Max July Blog Hop

Hey there! Welcome to the blog hop for July.  I have been MIA for a while and for that I am sorry.  My husband was let go from his job and received an offer for a better job within a couple weeks of his last day at the old job.  But that meant that we had to relocate our family 100 miles south of Logan to the Salt Lake Valley.  We are currently squatting in my mother's basement while our home sells and we look for another home.  And if all of that wasn't stressful enough...I am 19 weeks pregnant as we speak.  Whew!

I am feeling a little better now and I am on pins and needles waiting to find out what the next baby is tomorrow morning at an ultrasound.  I hope to be around a little more often now, even though we are in temporary quarters.

On to the good stuff! We are doing a fabulous Red, White, and Blue hop this month in honor of the July 4th holiday. I hear fireworks outside as I am writing this.  I have two cards to show you and then a great idea for future cards.  Stampin' Up! has retired a lot of their stars and July related items it seems.  But don't worry!

The first card is an old card that I made a few years ago when I first joined the Stampin' Up! family.  The set was in a mini catalog and I have held on to it just because I like it.  It is fireworks and stars and perfect for the holiday.  So, the colors on the card are still current, but everything else you see is retired.  It was just an old one that I found while packing up my stuff and moving and I held on to it.

The second card is one that I just made and even though the star punches are no longer current, star shapes are easy to snip (especially if you are following a stamp outline, but more on that later).  I inked up my lined embossing folder with Real Red ink and then ran a piece of Whisper White through it and the ink transfers to the cardstock as it embosses.  The stars are cut from the Polka Dot Parade DSP in Marina Mist.  Pretty quick and easy and makes the perfect American flag.

So here is the great thing.  We now have this great new catalog and there is an awesome stamp set in it that will work perfectly for this idea.  I just haven't snagged it for myself yet.  It is called Simply Stars and is really versatile in making holiday cards along with just celebrating events in general.  If you hoard punches like me, your old punches match perfectly to it.  If you don't have the old star punches, it is okay because stars are really easy to snip out using scissors since it is all straight lines and you just follow the inked image.  This set is on my wish list and at only $10.95 for a clear mount set it is worth is!

I hope you enjoyed the samples I had and move along to the next lovely project we have for you.  Enjoy your holiday and THANK YOU to all those who make this land the Land of the Free.

Stamp to the Max May Blog Hop

Welcome to May!  I love this time of year.  Spring is one of my favorite times of the year because it starts to warm up and the snow is gone and everything starts to bloom.  I won't mention that it snowed here in Logan on May 1st...woops, did I just say that? Not my favorite.

The card I have to show you today makes me think of spring with the birds and the flowers coming out.  It uses the stamp set Betsy's Blossoms.  I mixed some bold colors with Rich Razzleberry and Gumball Green with the neutral Whisper White to make a bright bold statement.  I love the way it turned out.

Since we are celebrating Mother's Day and Father's Day on this blog hop I decided that this card worked for that even though the sentiment is not something traditional.  I talk to my sweet mom pretty much every day, 3 times yesterday!  I am always thinking of her, so this sentiment made sense for me and is part of the stamp set called Sweet Essentials.

Another awesome product that makes me think spring is the new Bloomin' Bouquet Project Kit. One of these is definitely going to my mom for mother's day.  She can enjoy these flower all year long rather than just a week.  Plus, at only $12.95 they are way cheaper than real flowers too.  Grab the kit in my online store now!

Hope you enjoyed the projects I showed.  Hop along to the next stop and enjoy more parental merriment.

Stamp to the Max April Blog Hop

Hey fellow crafters!  Are you enjoying the birthday ideas you are getting so far?  I sure hope so!  Today I am going with a spring birthday card for you.  I have loved this set from the second I saw it in the catalog last year.  It is called Best of Everything...and it really is.

I paired the stamp set up with the Polka Dot DSP and some bright colors for a fun spring card.  My son and I went to the working historical farm here in town this week for Baby Animal Days and we held some cute baby chicks.  Nothing says spring like cute little birds.

Hope you like the card.  Its pretty versatile and you can change the sentiment out to be just about anything without it looking crazy.  I like cards like that because you never know when you need a random sentiment on short notice.

Don't forget that starting at 12:00 AM MST on April 6th you get FREE standard shipping on ANY order until 11:59 PM MST on April 8th.  So get your orders in to my website this weekend and score on some of the awesome new products without the shipping costs.  No minimum order required and its on everything!  Awesome!

Now get on over to the next blog and get some more inspiration for the upcoming birthdays in your life.

Fun With Fun Flowers Die

I had been wanting to make one of these cool twine letters for my house for a while.  Of course, you know the idea came from Pinterest.  I waited for some of the items to go on sale at the local craft store and then started my project.

I started with a wooden H that is about 18" tall.  It is only about 1/2" thick though.  I thought I wanted it thicker, but I couldn't find the height I wanted in a thicker version.  Overall, I am very pleased with it and realize now that the thicker version would not have turned out so versatile for me.  I used about 1 1/2 rolls of twine and lots of hot glue.  So make sure you have lots of glue sticks on hand when you start.

I started on the back of the letter and glued down the end and then started to wrap it around.  After a few wraps I realized that I need to be hot gluing most of the string down in order for it to stay in the place I wanted and nice and tight.  It doesn't take a ton of glue to get it to stay, so don't feel like you have to glob it on.  A nice thin strip right up against the strip already glued down is perfect. The twine is pretty forgiving, so even when I had to wrap the ends and corners it turned out pretty well.

Once the twine was done, I knew it needed some flowers.  You can find all sorts of felt at the local craft store.  It ranges from $0.25 - $1.00 a sheet depending on the thickness and if you wanted a pattern and glitter.  I chose the cheap stuff.  I folded the cream felt in half and put it over my Fun Flowers Die and ran it through the Big Shot doubled up.  Then I layered all the pieces for the look I wanted on the cream flower.  I used hot glue to attach the layers and the flower to the H as well.

The green flower is 2 long strips of felt cut about 2" x 5".  Fold it in half and then snip down the folded side leaving a half inch on the other side.  Then just roll it up using hot glue to secure it as you go.

For the gray flower I cut square 12 squares of the felt just larger than the second largest flower on the die and cut 3 at a time with the Big Shot.  Then I cut a 2" circle out of the felt for the backing.  Fold each flower in quarters and hot glue it to the circle starting with the outside first and working your way in.

I am pretty pleased with it and people love it too.  Most people on Pinterest were using them as wreaths on their front doors, but I have mine sitting on a shelf in my family room.  Please do not be fooled by the easiness (is that a word?) of this project.  It was SUPER easy, but it is time consuming to wrap all that twine.  It took me about 4 hours, but I am pretty particular on how the finished product looks...so the OCD takes longer for most things.  :)

Happy Crafting!

Create Printable

Hi All!  I saw this awesome quote on Pinterest (you know, my best friend) and instantly thought that it would go great in a craft room.  I love fun stuff like this. It fits in an 8x10 frame.

I used the Banner Punch in MDS and filled them in with Sycamore Street DSP from the Sale-a-bration digital content disk.  You can get that free with a qualifying order from now until March 22nd.  The fonts were free downloads that once installed, automatically are put into MDS just like they would in your favorite office software.  :)

Would you like a copy of this fabulous printable for your own home or office?  I can do that for you.  I will custom make you this same printable in the DSP colors of your choice for $3.  Contact me via email at stampinmartha @ hotmail.com.  Its the email in the top header as well if you are wondering. Yours, of course, won't be watermarked either. ;)

It doesn't matter what you create and it doesn't have to perfect, just do it.  I think a lot of people are afraid of crafting in general because they feel like it won't end up perfectly.  Believe me when I tell you that EVERY project has it's flaws.  You just learn to disguise them well the more you craft.  So, take this lesson to heart and just get out there and create!

You can shop at my online store 24/7 by clicking HERE.

Word Bubbles

I saw this awesome idea on Pinterest.  Let's face it, lots of awesome ideas are born from inspiration from Pinterest.  Its a fabulous thing.  My son is 6 and we all know that kids his age say pretty funny things on a daily basis.  I was missing them by not writing them down and my husband was missing them because he is at work all day long.

So from this idea was born MDS Word Bubbles.  I set out to make my own digitally, since I don't think I have the time or the right hole punch to do it that way.  I used the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack in MDS.  I started by making a basic shape (oval or rectangle) and then added the stem on the bottom.

Hints and Tips:
  • Place each dot by hand first.  It doesn't have to be perfect because you want the hand done look.
  • Select each dot and group them together to make one item.
  • Change the color to whatever you want.

So there you go.  I didn't know exactly where I was going to put them, so I only made two.  But then a friend decided she wanted some for her kids and I needed more as well.  So, it was easy to make mulitples in different colors.  I only used the two patterns shown, but each one is in a different color.  I decided to hang them in the kitchen so we would see them each day.  Then I take a picture of each one before I erase it and I will make a photo book out of them once we have enough. :)

You can order MDS2+ from my online store at any time.  You can also try a 30 day trial for free from the store.  Just click in the Digital section on the left side towards the bottom and there is an option to try it free.  You won't regret it.  Plus, it would earn you some free stuff because of Sale-a-bration.

Order online 24/7 via my website.

Butterfly Thanks

My favorite set of the moment (who can have just one all the time?) is Oh, Hello.  Its in the Spring Catalog and I instantly fell in love.  The chevron pattern is so in right now and I love the stamp that it has.  Plus, the sentiments are pretty versatile since you can color them with a marker and only have certain words show up if you don't want the whole thing.

Spring has sprung here in Cache Valley and we couldn't be happier.  My son is playing outside all afternoon now and that gives me some peace and quiet.  It makes for a happier momma.  I just needed some bright colors and fun stuff to go with our warmth right now.

I used Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight colors.  Pair the chevron stamp and sentiment up with the butterfly punches that we have and you have this lovely creation. Simple and fast....just the way most of us need it.

Current Promotion right now:
  • For every $50 you spend right now you get to choose one Sale-a-bration item free.
  • Use the Oh, Hello to get you to you on your way to $50.
  • Order before March 22nd with me.
  • Sale-a-bration items are limited time only and will not show up again.  Order it now if you like it.

Bucket List

My husband knows that the one place on Earth I would love to go more than any other place is England.  There is just something mystical about it, so its on my Bucket List of things to do before I die.  When the Sale-a-bration sets were announced and the stamp set Feeling Sentimental was on it, I knew I had to have it.  Plus, one of my best friends is from England and I keep telling her I will fit in her suitcase next time she goes for a visit home. And aren't the accents just dreamy?

It has these great images that remind me of England.  One of them is this phone booth (or a telephone box).  The other images are of a ferris wheel (I think it is the London Eye), an old fashioned tricycle, and the last is a sentiment of "Celebrate."  Super cute right?

I didn't make this telephone box the traditional red of the UK, but I think thats the fun in being creative with cards.  I paired up the stamp with the DSP from Sale-a-bration called Sycamore Street.  The colors are fun and vibrant.  You will love them.

Get the stamp set and the paper FREE for a limited time with a qualifying order.

The Nitty Gritty:
  • Choose one item from the sale-a-bration catalog free for every $50 you spend before tax and shipping.
  • Place your order with me by March 22nd
  • Sale-a-bration items are a limited time only, they won't appear in the catalog later...so get it now if you want it.
Shop now by visiting my online store.

Have fun with this set!  I know I have made several cards with it and haven't been disappointed yet.

March Stamp to the Max Blog Hop

Hey there!  Its that time again.  Are you having fun hopping around and getting some fun ideas?

I love spring time and I am so excited that that pesky groundhog said that spring was coming early.  Of course, I live in extreme northern Utah and we have snow on the ground until May usually.  But it is warming up! The highs have been in the 30s lately.

I was dying to get some spring in my life so I decided to make some cards with some fun stuff for you.  I make cards for a local nonprofit group here in Cache Valley and they are always needing "thinking of you" sentiments.  Both of these cards are ones that I made for them.

The first is a fun card that uses the Distressed Dots background stamp and the Summer Smooches DSP.  I took advantage of the new oval framelits to cut out my sentiment.  I am just over the dark colors of fall and winter and this did the trick for me.

The second card I did was an idea that I got from a fellow demonstrator with a few changes.  I used the leaf stamp from Besty's Blossoms and Curly Cute for the sentiment.  Stamp the leaf repeatedly gives that Whisper White a look of DSP.  You can create your own DSP with any stamp in any color you want!  Cool right?  Yah, I thought so too.

Thanks from coming by.  Now, hop your way to the next blog and enjoy the sights you see.  You are bound to find lots that you like and want to recreate.

Stamp to the Max February Blog Hop

Thanks for joining me again this month! Since it is the month of St Valentine and other romantic notions....I will give you a couple ideas on what is happening at our house.

The next few weeks are a big deal at our house.  Valentine's Day is of course on the 14th and you will want to share something with your sweetheart that day.  The card I have for you today is quick and easy and something that your special someone would love to get with a hand written note inside.  The DSP and laser cut heart are from the More Amore DSP pack.  Its really cute!  Then I used the Hearts a Flutter stamp set and matching framelits to creat the little scallop heart with the chevron heart inside it.  Quick and easy.

My son, who is in Kindergarten, is having the traditional party for school.  We put together these cute cello bags with a simple topper for him and his classmates.  I am sick of getting candy for him.  I feel like it is a constant push of candy from Halloween to Easter.  So, we are giving pencils away! I found these cute pencils in an 8 pack at Target for $1.  I used the 1" x 8" cello bags and the Hearts a Flutter bundle again for the topper.  Quick and easy....and candy free!  Each cello bag fits 2 pencils perfectly and I happened to find the cute pencils that matched the DSP for the most part.

I only have projects for Valentine's so far, but to round out the end of the month at our house we have my birthday on the 28th.  I wonder is my husband will make a card for me?  The little guy seems into card making, maybe it will rub off on Dad now.  Then, the week after my birthday (in March) we will be celebrating out 10 year anniversary.  I have to come up with a sweet card for that!  It for sure has to top Valentines.

So, there is our big month.  Its full of love, laughter, and forever after.  :)  Now hop along to the next blog and enjoy the other fabulous ideas you get.

January Stamp to the Max Blog Hop

Its a new year and a new begining.  One of my goals this year was to do some scrapbooking for my son.  We only have one....so it couldn't be that bad right?  LOL!

The best way to get started and going is with My Digital Studio.  You can't beat the prices of the awesome coordinated downloads and the ease of the new program.  I've got MDS2+ and I highly recommend it.  All the new features in this release are awesome.  I am still learning, but with all the training forums and videos to help out it is a snap!

If you are a beginner, you can start with a premade layout and just drag and drop a picture and add a little bit of text.  If you want to get more creative you can start with a layout, like I have today, and add to it some extras and such.  Or like the second one I did, you can start with a layout and then remove some things.  I have a boy, so flowers don't work well most of the time.  I removed the template flowers and added some text.

The layouts you see are from the new content disc called Lemonade Stand, available in the Sale-a-bration catalog that will start in just a few short weeks!  Can you believe that?  It has some fun stuff in it and I really like the honeycomb look to this set.  Best part is that is coordinates with the new honeycomb embossing folder as well.  So, you can do some hybrid scrapping too.  :)

Happy hopping along to see some of the awesome new products coming up.  The Spring Catalog is available to order right now and the Sale-a-bration one will be available to earn you free products from starting January 22nd.  Woo Hoo!
